This is a very nice and well preserved Fraternal sword made by the M.C.Lilley & Co. of Columbus, Ohio around 1923-1925 period. The blade is near mint w/the knight's name JOHN COLE and lots of scroll work/engraving. to front side and Christian Cross w/scroll work to opp. side. The scabbard is also very nice w/just some light spotty oxidation which will definitely polish up. Drag has the Maltese cross and the upper body has the enameled(about 40% missing) cross and the Latin phrases; IN HOC SIGNO VINCES. Crossguard has the Cross and filligree work which is the same on both sides. The black wood handle has a rather unusual 'stretched' Maltese Cross w/the Christian Cross to the center. T is some wear to backside of handle and topping off is the Knight's head pommel. OA length of this beauty is 36" / 91.5cm. Selling NO reserve. $18 postage in the lower 48 states. Foreign post express/registered mail approximately $50.
