This auction is for a fabulous Art Deco 2 tone black and amber bakelite / catalin box. The base is one solid piece of marbellized amber bakelite. It rests on four 1/2" square black feet. The lid is 1/4 inch thick piece of black bakelite with a 7/8" square knob of amber translucent bakelite. Most likely a powder box or trinket box. It measures 4 1/2" diameter across the base, 4 " diameter inside. The box alone is 2" tall, rests on 1/2 inch square black feet. The entire box is just under 4 1/2 inches tall to the top of the knob. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Guaranteed bakelite / catalin!
