Being offered for your consideration is a most beautiful, vintage, Taxco, Mexican, sterling silver, necklace, bracelet and pierced earring collection. Each of these exceptional pieces offers an exceptionally generous weight. (According to a local jeweler the total weight is 226.4 grams.) The necklace fish head measures approximately 1-3/4" in length x 1-3/8" in width. The tail measures approximately 2-1/8" in length x 1-3/8" in width. Each bone measures 13/16" in width. The entire length is 18-1/2". This piece is stamped with letters that travel in a circle as follows: "D'Molina - Mex - 925 - TM-90 ". The lovely bracelet measures approximately 7-1/2" in length x 5/8" in width. The marks are the same as the necklace's. The necklace and bracelet closures have bead ball knobs. When secured into the tails they produce the look of bubbles! The tongue closures securely lock into the tail fins. Each of the mirror image pierced earrings measure approximately 1-3/4" in length x 5/8" in width. Each is marked with the same words as found on the necklace and bracelet, although they are on the head and tail fin. Please Note: According to The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks by Hougart, the mark TM-90 lists the initials SMM next to this mark. Upon further research, the book indicates TM-90 SMM as "925 Sterling Metales Casados". Some of Los Costillo's additional 'line' names, were "Cobre Artistico" and "Metales Casados". On occasion, these marks were ommitted in error, according to an article by Glenn Pamfilof. " In many other previous discussions, with Don Antonio he always assured me that all of his items were marked "Los Costillo". Some had additional 'line' names, such as 'Cobre Artistico', 'Metales Casados', etc. Sheila did buy a new bracelet from him that was only marked 'Sterling 925', and when she pointed it out to Don Antonio, he had his worker come in with the "Los Castillo' stamp and it was now marked. So, some pieces get missed, occasionally. Please see www . Sheila Pamfilof is a well known Mexican Silver expert and author as well as a serious collector. D'Molina may have been a Los Castillo artisian or the name of a lesser known Los Castillo line. This exceptionally beautiful collection, with its amzing weight, is in excellent condition. Questions before bidding as sale is final. CA residents to add 8.75% sales tax or to provide a valid resale number. Serious bidders only please.
