MASSIVE OLD E CHAKRA TIBETAN SINGING BOWL 12" NO RESERVE! Highest Bidder Wins! Description: Size: 12" wide and 5 1/2" deep Weight: 2.8 Kg (6.2 lbs) Origin: Nepal Retail Value: over $1600This antique bowl has very faint lines on the top lip of the bowl and has a distinct hammer marked surface of an old singing bowl. The bowl also has sturdy wall capable of producing glorious tones and vibrations. You can actually feel the vibration pass through your bones and spread to your body with this aming Tibetan masterpiece. Its rich brassy patina with goldish hues and hammer grooves adds to its striking beauty. With weight of over 6 lbs, it is very heavy bowl ideal for producing multiple harmonic tones. A wooden mallet is included with the bowl. Chakra associated with the note (E) of this bowl is Solar Plexus Chakra. This is the area which defines our "self-esteem". The personality that develops during puberty is housed in this chakra....otherwise known as the "EGO". Rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, standing bells sit with the bottom surface resting. The sides and rim of the bell vibrate to produce sound. Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Bön, Buddhist, Ngagpa and shamanic meditation practice. Today they are used worldwide for meditation, relaxation, healthcare and mystical and religious practice.How To Play Singing Bowl:Start by holding your bowl in the palm of your left hand (right if you are left handed) The very bottom of the bowl should be the only part of the bowl touching your hand so the body of the bowl is allowed to vibrate freely. With a wooden mallet or whatever mallet you are using, slowly start rubbing the outside rim in a clockwise circular motion, keeping an even and constant pressure on the edge of the bowl. Sometimes it is helpful to gently strike the bowl before you start the rubbing motion.
