This sterling silver large serving spoon in Reed & Barton's Love Disarmed is an authentic, old, original piece from a Boston area home. It is 10 3/4" long and weighs a remarkable 7.3 T. oz. The bowl is 4 1/4" back to front by 3" at the widest. It has flanged shoulders and retains its original gold wash finish on the interior. The piece is in spectacular condition. The female figure and cherub exhibit all the precise detail for which this design is renowned. The form is flawless, with no dings, burrs or dents in the bowl. T is no polishing wear, nor is t a monogram or monogram removal. The marks are the precise Reed & Barton emblem and word "Sterling" expected of an old piece, along with "Patent Appl'd For," which is further evidence of its age. T is a retailer's stamp, A. Stowell & Co (Boston).Shipping is or $ 10.00 for USPS Priority mail insured.An ebayer has asked about an apparent spot in the bowl of this. Apart from slight surface wear consistent with its age, the bowl is perfect. I photographed this outside. The spot is a reflection of a light fixture, and the lines are reflections of the siding. Please ask any and all questions. T are many reproductions of this pattern in the marketplace. Originals like this one are distinct.
