Huge 18-1/2" Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) Blue & White Charger This Amazing Charger is decorated with two shades of cobalt blue and shows a beautiful Spring Country Scene. Incredibly large, this Charger dates to the 1800 - 1850 era of Illustrious China. Across the top are Plum Blossoms, or Prunus, which represent the new life of Spring. A butterfly and another Spring flower, the Chrysanthemum, represent good fortune, wealth, and honor. T can be seen under microscopic examination all the glorious natural wear and minor scratches on this Charger consistent with use and age. You can see numerous sprue marks on the bottom, from the firing. Except for one short ( 1-1/4"), very fine , old, grey hairline which has been stabilized with Zero Viscosity Penetrant Paleo Bond (the penetrant did not go through to the other side but both sides were done), it is in excellent condition . In extremely beautiful and almost entirely un-warped condition (rare for this this size of Charger), this would be a Wonderful Centerpiece for any serious collection. Dimensions are 18-1/2" in diameter and 2-1/4" high. This charger is from the Fred Gumbart Collection. Mr. Fred Gumbart is the owner/appraiser of Arizona Galleries ). Dr. Jones now runs his own appraisal and authentication business, and is certified RPA-IAA. Dr. Jones can be reached at .
