This auction is for one, VERY RARE Artist Proof of Master Replicas' Luke Skywalker Episode V ( The Empire Strikes Back) Lightsaber Signature Edition Replica, signed by actor Mark Hamill. Artist Proofs are very rare, very special pieces that Master Replica makes in addition to the announced production run - usually 30 AP pieces or less are made. Generally, these Artist Proofs (APs) are given as contractual samples to licensors, or to the staff and/or VIPs.The Luke Skywalker Episode V Signature Edition was available in 2003 - and has been sold out for a LONG, LONG time. And APs are even harder to come by than the regular production run pieces! This is a very rare find for Star Wars replica collectors!The case for the product was completely sealed - it was only opened (a) to take photographs for this auction, and (b) to ensure that it actually IS an AP and all of the pieces are intact.I opened the case, and removed the acrylic display case. I had to take the top off of the acrylic display case to access the plaque inside (again, to verify that it was an AP); however, the protective plastic wrap around the acrylic display has never removed. I opened the small cardboard box labeled "plaques", and gently removed the plaque from its foam wrapping.
