This hour glass shaped console table was designed in the early 1980's by long time Mastercraft designer William Dozema. The table is in excellent original condition. The black lacquer shows no marks whatsoever on the table sides, and only the most minimal us age marks on the top, as though a runner had been used to protect the finish. Our photo with the vase is intended to show the depth and sheen of the finish. The table is finished on all sides . The brass trim s urround to the top shows the original hand brushed patina, bringing a beautifully antiqued contrast to the overall modernist design.Dimensions: 60W x 17D c 29½HMastercraft: Bill Dozema and his brother were founders and co-owners of Mastercraft until they sold the company to Baker Furniture. Bill continued to do design work for Mastercraft after the Baker sale; nearly every piece of Mastercraft ever produced was designed by Bill until Baker closed that division. When I was an intern at Mastercraft in 1985 I had the privilege of working for Mr. Dozema. At one point Bill asked metal artist Bernhard Rohne to develop accent panels for furniture pieces, which were so successful Rohne is occasionally credited with the overall original design rather than Dozema. It was Bill's designs that gave Mastercraft decades of incredibly original designs.
