On many occasions we get asked if our works are prints given their high quality and detail like no other offered. So, just for the record J This thangka is a 100% original hand painted with real stone paint on canvas adorned with pure 24k gold!
We have had the honor of being allowing our collection and co-op to include some select works of Ram Bhadur Lama. For those of you who are familiar withsome of the best regional thangka artits in the himalayan region his name would not be much of a surprise to you. I have decided to list this beautiful White Tara as I simply could not resist it!. It takes months on end to obtain pieces by Ram Bhadur lama because he is flooded with commission orders from across the world! Surely, it is very easy to see why, just have a look at this White tara thangka it has to be the most smoothest piece one would possibly come across. He has a trademark in using the most harmonic blend of colors and the pallette of colors he employs for his masterpieces make him one of the most affordable master thangka artists in the himalayan region! THIS IS AN EVEN LAGER PIECE THAN HIS OTHER AND MEASURES A HUGE 27 INCHES BY 20 INCHES WIDE! THE DETAIL AND WORK IS INCREDIBLE! I AM THE ONLY SELLER TO ACTUALLY OFFER HAVING THESE THANGKAS MOUNTED IN PURE TIBETAN STYLE SILK BROCADE READY FOR MOUNTING AND DISPLAY. A FIFTH GENERATION THANGKA BROCADE MASTER SHALL ACCENT THE BEAUTY O THIS ALREADY MAJESTIC THANGKA FOR A SMALL FEE! OF COURSE, WE USE ONLY PURE SILK OF THE HIGHEST CLASS, NO POLYESTER OR CHINESE BROCADE USED :)The brocade frame of the Thangka also holds symbolic meaning. The inner frame of brocade (often red) can be thought of as a rainbow gateway beyond which lies the pure land inhabited by the deity the Thangka represents. Attached to the top of the frame is a rectangle of colored silk which is long enough to hang all the way down to the bottom of the painting. This acts as a cover for the Thangka and allows it to be 'put to sleep' when it is not in use, as well as acting as a protective dust cover to keep the painting safe when it is stored. This material we use is the highest grade traditional Tibetan motif brocade, t are a great deal of Chinese brocade symbols out t used with a blend of materials to create- what the Chinese sellers use known as" poly-silk:" but we utilize only the highest grade varanasi pure silk and classical Tibetan brocade to mount our thangkas . The finished painting is sewn within a brocade frame and finished with ribbons and silk to protect the image. It is important to understand that you will not find a single thangka in a monastery, or from my own experience, the home of dharma practitioner who uses the thangak for meditation aid displayed without silk brocade. It is of course your choice to have your thangka framed in the "western" style of framing with glass and wooden frame but this is not in accordance to instructions given in the Sadhnas for the final finishing and display of thangka art. Having thangkas framed glass can be very detrimental to your thangka in the long run if they are exposed to yellow light or constant sun and if the wrong kind of glass is used. These both have the effects of wearing the intensity of color, causing chipping on the paint and dulling the intensity of the gold work over a period of time. PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT EXPOSED TO EITHER OF THE ABOVE. Unlike having them framed in the traditional manner w one may put them sleep at night by placing the protective silk veil above the canvas to protect it from excessive sunlight or when one is asleep so it is not exposed unnecessarily one is not able to do this with glass frames. A few words about framing thangkas that are not mounted in brocade. It is a good idea to use glass that is ultra violet glass for the best protection. The glass should not touch the thangka. Acid free cardboard should be used. Please for the safety if your own thangka use either matte, and special non-reflecting glass that is...
