Masterpiece, Large Chinese White Jade Peaches, 18th C Album Album Album Masterpiece Chinese White Jade Carving of Two Peaches and Three Bats, 18th Century. Beautiful color of translucent pale celadon/white jade with areas of white mottled color, mostly to the bats. Peaches are very lifelike and the stems naturally twist around the peaches with curled leaves and detail to the bark and veining. The bats are carved in high relief with good detail to their eyes, wings and fur. The form is very pleasing and presented well with an original hardwood stand carved in detail of rocks, flowers and grasses. Provenance: See the catalogue of Sotheby's London "Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, June 16, 1999 lot 838. Condition is very good Very light and translucent jade with good overall color. Note: Due to differences in computer monitors and different lighting conditions, t may be some variations in jade appearance.
