This auction is for a beautiful marbalized olla, complete with her famous rabbits on the top, face and bottom, which was produced by Paty Ortiz, a well known potter from Mata Ortiz who has been producing high quality pottery for several years. Now is the time to acquire a fine piece by a renowned potter at a very reasonable price. The piece measures approximately 7 inches high and 16 inches in circumference with an opening at the top of approximately 2 inches in diameter. This olla is signed by the artist on the bottom of the pot. This piece will make a nice addition to an existing collection of Native American or Mata Ortiz pottery or be appreciated by anyone who enjoys intricately done, finely detailed ceramics. As you know, pottery from Mata Ortiz is designed solely for decorative purposes and should not be used to hold food or water. This olla is in mint condition with no chips, scratches or blemishes. It is very thinly walled and can be damaged if dropped or handled carelessly. I will include, at no charge, a ceramic pottery ring covered in yarn, to properly display your new piece.
