Item Description and Bidding/ Shipping Cost and Policy/ Payment Instructions: One (1) Matchbox Lesney Pontiac Gran Pri x Sports Coupé 22 c2, red body variation. Stannard code 3. This fine model is in very near mint (please see grading criteria below) code 3 condition. It was introduced in June, 1965 and was sold in this type and a rare orange red variation (Mack). Stannard says body colour varies in shades which probably accounts for the alleged orange-red rarity. There exist 6 distinct Stannard code types. This is a Stannard code 3, red body, A type body casting wi thout bonnet studs, B type roof with locating stud, A type plastic door springs, B type base with rear pa tent number , no tow guide (A-B-A-B ). It is approximately 76 mm in overall length. Please carefully examine the high definition photos for the superb, vibrant, glossy, virtually flawless code 1 virgin original paintwork detail. The windows are clean and clear as new. The wheels show no wear. The black painted base is immaculate. The tow hook is completely intact. There are no casting or mechanical defects. They are constructed of correct weight tag board, square and functionally perfect, fresh and colourful, meticul ousl y detailed inside and out . They are laser printed so they will be somewhat glossier than an original Lesney era box, which was printed with lithography.
