DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a lovely matching pair of amethyst Carnival glass rippled vases. They stand 5 3/4 inches tall and the base of each is 2.5 inches across. I believe these are referred to as mini vases. One of them has tiny beige colored paint speckles/spatters; I scraped a couple with my fingernail and they came off but there are quite a few and I will leave for the new owner to do as he/she chooses about them. Each vase has a number of factory defects (bubbles, etc.) on the inside of the ruffles (see photos 8, 9 & 10). They also look like there is some scaling on the inside from water. They really are quite lovely; I took photos both inside with and without a flash and outside in daylight to show how lovely the colors are. I CHARGE NO HANDLING FEES. I occasionally upgrade shipping (at no addition cost to the buyer) to Fedex - who won't ship to a PO Box - so please be prepared to provide a physical address.I sell USED and UNIQUE items, so expect minor evidence of use or imperfections, dings, etc. from age. RECEIVED AN INQUIRY ABOUT THE BUBBLES: There is one tiny bubble on the surface of the glass on the inside of the vase near the ruffle that is an open bubble; it is elongated and in total is, at most, 1/8 inch long. I was also asked to hold a bright light up to the vases to check for cracks; I did this and could see no cracks but I did see something small, clear, flaky-looking (perhaps pieces of hard plastic stuck to the inside of one vase about halfway down inside the vase. Again using the bright light bulb, I noticed on the rim of one vase there is a very tiny sliver of glass missing that I just could not see until I held the vase right up against a bright light bulb; this sliver is 1/4" long by the wide of the rim (1/8"). Because there are bids, I can't add additional photos but I'm happy to email photos of these areas to interested parties. In addition, if there is anyone who bid that would like to have their bid cancelled in light of these findings, please contact me and I will be happy to do so; I try to describe things to the best of my ability but I am not a glass expert. I HAVE JUST VERIFIED THAT THERE IS A 16 POINT STAR ON THE BASE OF EACH. MORE INFO TO ASSIST IN YOUR EVALUATION: The bubble that breaks the surface, the sliver/chip and the tiny paint spatters are all on the same vase. If you are checking out the photobucket images I uploaded, you may have noticed that I mixed up the sizes of the bubble and the sliver/chip. It is the tiny elongated open bubble that is 1/8 inches in length and the sliver/chip that is 1/4 inches in length.
