Thank You For Considering My Listing 2 Matching Antique Eastlake Deep Well Wood/Gesso Frames This auction is for 2 matching antique eastlake deep well wood and gesso frames. Both frames have an outer section of solid wood (probably walnut) with an ebony band, then an ivory band before the marbleized eastlake carved section. Both the inner and outer bands of the marbleized section are ebony. The inner section of the frames is gold leaf. The frames will hold a canvas or glass that measures approximately 10 1/4” x 12 1/4”. The actual picture size, therefore, is approximately 10” x 12.” The outer dimensions of the frames are approximately 15 3/8” x 17 3/8”. The total depth of the frames, including the inner frame sections is approximately 2 3/4”. The solid wood section alone is approximately 2 3/8” deep. Each frame weighs approximately 3 ½ pounds. These frames are in wonderful condition with no major cracks, gouges, scratches, or missing gesso. The Eastlake carving does not appear to have any damage on either frame even though the actual marbleization in this section has had some repair and restoration on both frames. The outer edges of the wood section on both frames do have minor dings, mars, and light scratches. There is one ding or scratch on the ivory band on each frame.
