Mr. Gould was a financier & railroad builder, owner of Union Pacific RR, Missouri Pacific RR, Western Union Telegraph Co, Manhattan Elevated RR of NY, Lyndhurst of NY. In 1937 the Gould family was named #36 in the top 60 wealthiest American families, along with the Rockefellers, Fords & Vanderbilts.
