is a pair of matching Koken barber chairs up for auction. I was told this style or type of chair was made from about 1925 to 1935. T is no reserve and the starting bid for both is only $399.99 - $200 a chair! I am told these are unusual and desirable as they have the round seat bottoms. Most are squared off. As you can see the original headrests are included. The chairs need a good cleaning up but overall are in real nice original condition. T is plenty of surface rust on the nickel plated surfaces, but the hydraulics seem to be in good order as the chairs pump up and down as they should. The upholstery is decent with most of the wear on the armrest covers. This auction is "pickup" only in Canton, CT, which is about 18 miles NW of Hartford. I guess the chairs weigh about 300 pounds each more or less. They are pretty heavy.
