You are bidding on one Mathieson wood groove molding or moulding plane with an adjustable fence, plus a second Mathieson body, all as pictured. It is marked with the paper label on the side as shown, plus "A MATHIESON & SON GLASGOW" and owner "V WILKINSON" on the front end, and "770 C" and WILKINSON again on the back end. Overall length is 7-1/2", and the body is 2" in width not including the fence.Condition is excellent -- crisp with great color and patina -- except for 4 holes on the left side and some small scratches and dings. Also included is another Mathieson wood groove plane with an adjustable fence, but all I have is the body with no iron or wedge. It is marked "MATHIESON & SON GLASGOW & EDINBURGH" and overall length is a much longer 9-1/2". In my experience, the longer length is not at all common in this profile. Condition is good, wanting a cleaning and showing wear, and t are two filled rectangular holes that were about 3/16" by 9/16" (???) on the left side. The winner gets both planes. This is one of a number of auctions of wood planes that I have listed right now. Please see my other current as well as upcoming auctions, as I am or will be listing many more collectible planes and tools. I typically list in batches of similar tools, and sitting right now in the queue are many metallic planes such as Stanley, more American and British molders, chisels and gouges, some great bevels and squares, and a variety of other tools. And if you, like me, are tired of the disappointments as a shopper -- misleading descriptions and poor photographs, "fine" tools that turned out to be repainted when you got them, non original parts that weren't mentioned, and poor packaging, -- then I encourage you to follow my auctions. I come from the handshake school of doing business, and hopefully you are like me and understand what that means. ETHICS IN DESCRIPTIONS: I also buy for my collecting on eBay, and I have been burned too many times by misleading (duh did I forget to mention .......) descriptions, and pictures only of the left side when the right side was trashed. Life is much simpler for me if I disclose what I know or see about an item before you bid, and especially before you receive it in the mail. If I have added or repalced a part, I will tell you. If I think the wedge on a molding plane is not original, I will tell you. If I think a japanned plane has been repainted, I will tell you. What goes around, comes around. RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn't need a return policy. However, that doesn't mean that I won't make an occasional mistake. Please bid with the assurance that if I have made an error in my listing, I WILL take care of you. WASHINGTON STATE BIDDERS: I hate to do this, but if I ship to a Washington address, I either have to charge sales tax at the rate of 8.9%, or receive a valid resale form.PRIORITY MAIL FLAT RATE BOXES FOR HEAVY ITEMS: The Post Office has two sizes of Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes (11-7/8 x 3-3/8 x 13-5/8 inches and 11 x 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches) for which the postage stays the same regardless of weight. WINNING MULTIPLE AUCTIONS: I will always combine multiple purchases to save on shipping, and use the Flat Rate boxes whenever they make sense.OVERSEAS BIDDERS:Shipping will be at my cost for postage plus $2 for packaging materials. The postage cost for Priority Mail to either Australia or the UK ranges from about $20 for 1 pound to $35.15 for a Flat Rate box, and gets more expensive again when you go over 5 pounds and it won't fit in the Flat Rate box. That includes insurance up to about $60 coverage, and insurance runs a few dollars for more coverage. T is also the option of First Class Mail for small items under 4 pounds, which is less expensive, but t is no provision for insurance with First Class.CANADIAN BIDDERS: Exactly the same as overseas, except my cost for 1 pound via Priority Mail is $15...
