This is a pastel painting of the Mountain Quail and their babies. The Mountain Quail is the largest of the six quail species native to North America. The Baby Quail are so cute with their tiny little plumes. This covey is getting a drink of water in front of 10,000ft Mount Lassen in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. I have been elected a Signature Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America entitling me to sign PSA on all of my originals, prints and correspondence.
