This was the battle cry that once stirred excitement in the mid 1960s and early 1970s. Hot Wheels first steps in racing saw Mattel Hot Wheels sponsoring the Don Snake Prudhomme and Tom Mongoose McEwen racing teams. The same year Mattel introduced the Mongoose and Snake Drag Race Set which featured the Hot Wheels versions of the popular Snake and Mongoose Funny Cars. The set promoted side-by-side racing and included a finish gate and parachutes to slow the cars down after the race. This original, 1969 vintage, boxed set, with instructions of MATTEL'S "MONGOOSE & SNAKE" DRAG RACE HOT WHEELS SET, with its many, numerous individual pieces, appears to be complete, but could have some pieces missing. While used, it is in good condition for its age. Mattel did make later versions of this concept, but this is the very first production. While t are some later versions currently selling on-line for three figures, we have not been able to find any of the very first productions which have become very rare. S. addresses will be by USPS Priority Mail or First Class on very small, light packages, or by UPS Ground upon request, and insured. Either method will be at cost of shipping, plus an additional, minimal handling/packing fee, unles stated otherwise in the individual "Description." If buyer requests other than this method, it will be done at cost, plus handling fee, plus an additional $5.00 fee. 2) If buyer requests packaging and/or shipping instructions which, from our experience, we feel is unsafe for the contents, we will follow those instructions, when put into writing, or e-mail message, with the understanding that we will accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to the contents. Also, we may not be able to have the package insured, for carriers may not accept, nor provide insurance claims on what they consider to be poorly packaged parcels 3) Shipping and insurance rates since 9/11 continue to rise rapidly, and because carrier insurance does not reimburse for these costs, but only the contents themselves, to the buyer, we have instituted in most instances a co-insurance/self-insurance policy which will allow buyers to receive directly from us the full amount of their purchases, including all shipping/handling/insurance charges. Tfore, full insurance costs may not show up on the "postage paid," section of the package, but the full contents will always be insured by us. Since we always require "Delivery Confirmation" from the carrier, t is no insurance responsibility for what may occur after delivery has been made and verified by that carrier. In addition, we cannot assume responsibility for re-shipment charges for any returns made because delivery was not accepted for any reason, in which cases, the buyer is fully responsible for full additional re-shipment charges. If t is any damage to the contents during delivery, notify us immediately no later than 24 hours after the item(s) were delivered by the carrier, and do not return any items to us without prior authorization from us, or we will assume NO financial or other responsibility for such returns.
