An original antique Maxfield Parrish "Stars" print published by House of Art (Reinthal & Newman) in 1926 in its original frame and with its original framing materials. The color retention in this print is excellent as evidenced by the flesh tones and pink values in the facial highlights. Often these pink values are the first to fade if the print has been hung in lighted areas over the years. The lower left corner shows "House Of Art - NY". The right lower corner shows "Maxf.." before the edge of the frame covers the rest. The print was removed from the frame by carefully cutting the original dust cover paper backing around the inside edge of the frame. The House of Art framing tag was half glued to the frame and half to the paper backing. The top of the tag was cut around and the bottom was left on the frame. The glass was cleaned inside and out. The print was examined for damage. A sheet of acid free conservation stock was placed between the print and the original discolored corrugated panel behind the print. This was done to protect it from the corrugated material in the future. The print was returned to its original frame using all original materials other than the added acid free protective sheet.
