THIS BID IS FOR A MAXFIELD PARRISH PRINT TITLED AIR CASTLES . I BOUGHT IT AT AN ESTATE SALE AND WAS TOLD BY THE HEIRS THAT IT WAS GIVEN TO THEIR PARENTS BEFORE 1920. IT IS IN THE CONDITION THAT I GOT IT IN AND WILL BE SOLD LIKE THAT, I DID NO REPAIRS OR CLEANING SO THE PATINA IN INTACT. .IT IS IN THE ORIGINAL FRAME WHICH MEASURES 14 1/2 INCHES BY 18 5/8 INCHES, THE PRINT OPENING IS 11 3/8 BY 15 5/8 . THE FRAME IS ANTIQUE GOLD WITH A BLUE WASH OVER THE RECESSED AREA THAT MATCHES THE BLUE OF THE PRINT. EVERYTHING LOOKS IN GOOD CONDITION TO ME BUT I AM NOT AN ART COLLECTOR OR ART APPRAISER SO IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY DESCRIPTION PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL LABEL AND NAILS HOLDING THE BACKING ON AND SCREW EYES LOOK ORIGINAL BUT HAS NO HANGING WIRE AND THE ORIGINAL PAPER BACKING IS MISSING. I ASSUME THE GLASS IS ORIGINAL BUT DID NOT ASK SO CANNOT ATTEST TO THAT. PART OF THE LABEL IS ON ONE OF THE LISTING PHOTOS IF THAT WILL HELP WITH ANY INFORMATION....THE BACK IS ALSO SHOWN AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE NUMBER REFERS TO... THIS WILL BE SHIPPED WELL PACKED AND WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION AND TRACKING NUMBER. INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE SHIPPING COST... * the light colored strip at the right top of the print in the front photo is a reflection from a window and is not a faded area on the print. *******************additional photo added of close up of frame detail. i beieve it is called a gessoed frame and the pattern is brushed or combed. i may not be using the correct terms so use the photo for detail. i see no chips or cracks or what might be a repair. it looks like it has had good care.....i described the item to the best of my knowledge but if you need more details or have a question about my description please ask....
