Maxim 08 15 water-cooled Machine Gun water can condenser. I picked this up in Germany in the 90s. I found two pictures of it from WWI books. This is the rare round can assume early war. I don't know what kind of German MG it goes to. I don't know if it's supposed to be a watercan or a condenser (answers are welcome). I was told by the seller it was German WWI. I cannot find a date or other stamping on it. The can is battle damaged from bullet or shrapnel. It seems to be some kind of heavy aluminum, although t are rust spots from being around other steel items. T is also overspray from paint which can be removed. Please look carefully at the pictures; it is sold as is, used battle damaged. It is gray bear metal or a parkerized. It measures: 7 inches in diameter 13 ½ inches tall It can be used as : 1) Battlefield display for reenacting 2) Battlefield museum display with MG 3) Model to remanufacture new ones (I could not find one on line, only the ammo can types) 4) Take your time and pound it back in shape. 5) Put a plastic bottle inside and use it with firing your MG instead of those milk jugs!
