This is a reproduction of a real Mayan Artifact. I Studied in Columbia for a few years and found this artifact,...amazing. I made a copy for myself many years ago when I was there. I want to share the gift it is to me with you. You can read more about the artifact on the internet. It is painstakingly reproduced right down to the texture. It is made of a composite and has a gold leaf finish. Description This is a scale replica of Pre-Columbian artifact from the Museo Del Oro in Bogota, Columbia. Bearing an uncanny resemblance to modern aircraft, these oddly-shapped objects have been found in ancient tombs across central America. Fashioned in solid gold by the Chibcha, a pre-Incan culture, they were used as magical amulets, decorations on sacred trees and as offerings in tombs. Estimated at roughly 2000 years old, researchers have found 33 of them in Columbia, Peru, Costa Rica and Venezuela. Although archaeologists consider them stylistic renditions of birds or flying fish, from a modern standpoint they appear to be accurate three dimensional representations of vary advanced aircraft, including an odd symbol on the wings like military aircraft of today.
