offered, fresh from a local estate, is a sweet sterling spoon featuring a 3/4 figural, 3 dimensional Santa . It is marked on the back with M B with crossed tools & the word "sterling". The spoon measures about 5 inches long (13MM). It is superbly detailed...on the front with his jolly face & beard, right hand holding the rope of his toy bag going over his shoulder. On the back you can see the toys peeking out of the bag.He is standing on what looks to be ice -sickles. Right below Santa's boots are the words "MERRY XMAS". The bowl is plain. The finish appears to be the satin type -esp. the bowl. The spoon is in fair condition: the bowl has a little ding on the edge & t is one pitting spot that I was unable to remove with a simple polishing. I was able to find this spoon in "American Spoons: Souvenir & Historical" by Rainwater & Felger. Third printing, 1968. Page 329. This spoon would make a great addition to any spoon collection, or for someone who collects antique/vintage Christmas items. Please view all pics for the details, asking any ??'s prior to bidding.
