Wonderful Mayflower Glass Oil Platform

A very unusual piece completely handmade by the venerable British glass firm, Mayflower (who are reknowned for their ships in bottles.) This piece is in mint condition, and still bears the "Made in Great Britain" sticker on the bell jar. The lovely russet color in some of the glass is achieved by mixing powdered 24K gold into the glass. Though a photograph of this piece can still be found on the Mayflower website (it is stunningly unsual after all), correspondance with the firm revealed that the company no longer produces this oil platform, which features a derrick, crane and helicopter on a platform above a blue felt "sea." A wonderful and unique gift for someone working in the oil industry or a very unusual addition for a collector of mouth-blown glass. In the spirit of true auction, it is offered without reserve. This bell will be double boxed for shipping. Insurance is required.

Payment Payment is expected in a timely manner. PayPal is preferred, USPS money orders are also accepted. Bidders with more than 100 positive feedback are also welcome to pay with a personal check, but please understand that we must hold your item until your check clears. Shipping Most items are shipped one business day after payment clears, through the U.S. Postal Service, with delivery confirmation. We will let you know if t is a shipping delay. If we will be away at auctionâe(tm)s end it will be stated in the listing. Shipping rates are based on the actual charge of postage plus delivery confirmation. If we overestimate the charge we will refund you the difference.

Requests to return must be made within seven (7) days of receipt.
