This beautifully preserved Belotelson magister Shrimp was collected near Braidwood IL. The preservation of this fossil is excellent. This fossil has been weatd out and broken naturally by mother nature. A natural break has made this fossil an excellent museum quality piece. The size of this fossil is 2 1/4 in long by 1 5/8 in wide. The fossil contains both halves and t has not been any restoration work done to it. Mazon Creek fossils are found in the Colchester No. 2 coal within the carbondale formation. the age is middle Pennsylvanian Period; 280 million years ago.
