Just purchased in a large, private collection of antique and vintage dolls. This is an adorable 10 1/2" antique bisque head doll marked 2 M (symbol) B Japan 2/0 on her head. The maker is Morimura Brothers (Nippon). The Morimura family was the founder of Noritake. Cute character face with 2 dimples in each cheek and chin. Doll has a (replaced) body marked Vernon Seeley and initialed by someone else. No hairlines, cracks or eye chips, but I did find 2 small chips on the rim of her head/neck, the part that's inside the body and you can't see unless the lift the head out of the socket. Looks like original human hair wig, open mouth with 2 teeth, original blue eyes. Not sure if set or sleep eyes, I think the head's been packed. All the dolls in this collection had their heads packed when I purchased this collection, to prevent the eyes from falling inside the heads. Compo ball jointed body is in great condition, nicely strung, no chipped fingers or toes. Doll comes in the clothing shown, which is not original. No shoes or socks. A wonderful antique bisque head doll. No must, dust, mold, mildew or other odors. I am happy to provide additional information or photos if you need them. Be sure to see my other auctions.
