12/18 update. I just reduced the "buy it now" price on these. If I don't sell, I won't re-list. I'm quite sure a local dealer will pay me about what I'd make selling this way. I hope these will go to a loving home. Displayed is one of two genuine vintage 1940s McCoy Tulip Vases I have for up for bid. One is more yellow and the other more pink. I actually bought 3 of these vases some time ago from different sources. My friend has one that was her mother's (I've always admired it), so I consulted with her on the size etc. before buying any to make sure I got the real deal. T are reproductions of these, as it is a popular funky vase. It is hard to measure because it is an odd shape, but the max. height is 8-1/4" and 7" at the widest point. I went a little crazy playing Martha Stewart. I collect vases and have a huge flower garden; I wanted three for a fancy center piece. Well, I've had my fun and have decided to keep one. The book price on these is $90.00-$125.00, depending on which book you consult. I paid less than book, but much more than I am selling for. I am listing as a buy it now, so you might get or give it for the holidays. Keeping one was a hard decision. All three are in equally great shape and each one is hand decorated; each one is unique. T are no chips, cracks, or repairs. T may be some crazing in the very bottom of the vase. One thing to disclose if you are not familiar with older pottery...some clay bodies are porous and will "weep" or "sweat" on the bottom. I learned this the hard way with an old piece of Weller Florenzo. It left a mark on my wood table. After that happened, a local antiques dealer with 30+ years experience told me that this is not uncommon. I always put a plate under a piece to test it! All three of these tulip vases weep; it's just the clay body. It just gets wet on the bottom over a day or so, not like a leak; so protect your table with a small plate or dish under. I have enjoyed the items I am listing, but my rule is if I buy something new, something has to go. One of these is fine for my collection. Please check my feedback.
