Offered for auction is a McCoy pottery cookie jar.

This rare cookie jar is approximately 9 1/2 inches tall including the bird on top, 8 inches wide at the eaves, 6 3/4 inches deep at the roof and 5 1/4 inches wide at the bottom.

It is marked 'McCoy USA' on the bottom. The lid opens on the left side of the bird house; it is not a 'V' top.

Since it was used as a cookie jar, it does have some flaws: the bird beak is chipped, the top of the roof has 2 small nicks, rim of the lid has a rough spot and a chip; the bird house itself has a chip inside the rear rim and a rough spot on the base. Both pieces have crackled glaze, pin holes and mold marks, and color/glaze flaws.

Please refer to the photos for more detail.

This is still and excellent addition to anyones collection.

Thank you for looking and good luck!
