Rare McCoy Stoneware Basketweave and Morning Glory pitcher. Also called Willow Ware by the J.W. McCoyPottery Company from 1899-the mid 30's. A popular line consisting of many different forms from pitchers to canister sets. This line had great success and was well received with McCoy buyers back in the day. This is the first one of these pitchers I have seen in my 12 years of pottery selling at shows and collecting with this color combination. I have never seen an example with the brown lower portion of the pitcher, and the flower and stem hand glazed with brown and blue. The colors are all original and were done at the time of the manufacture. Condition--- I have pictured closely all parts of the pitcher, and the light areas where the clay color shows thru the glaze is all factory and are not damage, or chips at all. All of the spots are in the making, and I have looked the piece over under close high magnification, and none of the areas are due to damage. Most of the spots are flush with the surface, or stick above the surface, either the glaze pulled away from the high areas of the stoneware during firing, almost like it was splashed with flying clay during time in the kiln. All this being said, look at the pictures very close before bidding. I am mentioning all this for accuracy, and these areas show more in my photos than in read more
