Up for auction is a McIntosh MC 2105 amplifier. This is a vintage tube amplifier which has been tested and appears to be in good working condition. The lady this was purchased from had told us that it had been serviced in the past couple of years, t are a couple of condensors? or capacitors? taped to the right hand side of the unit, I assume that these were replaced. (I know little or nothing about stereo equipment, so cut me a little slack.) I hooked this unit up to a couple of 8 ohm speakers, the unit powered up, both speakers worked just fine, I left it playing for several hours and nothing got hot, t were no problems. Cosmetically, t are some defects and I have taken a couple of close-ups of those defective areas. T are some bubbles in the glass faceplate, this is common and is readily visible in the photos. The face plate is not cracked or otherwise damaged. T are two areas with some surface rust on the front, both on the left-hand side and the right-hand side--t of close-ups of both of those areas. On the back, around the fuse holder, t is also some surface rust, t is also a close-up photo of that. The unit could stand to be cleaned, the knobs are a little dirty, I wiped the faceplate down, but t are some finger smudges, etc. All in all, it works great and it doesn't look terrible--a little tlc and you'll have a good looking read more
