A WW1 medal...1914-1915 Star.. named to 16000 Pte W H Rance Oxford & bucks LI ....comes his brass Oxford & Bucks shoulder badge....medal condition- good...ribbon a little grubby.........with photocopy of medal roll index......Recipient Info from British Army Service records WW1 1914-1920---- William Hawes Rance,born abt 1895,joined up in Chesham 7/11/1914,qualified as a first class Signaller,wounded left leg,severe,& "Gas Shell"......With expdy Force from 20/5/1915 to 30/6/1915 and again expdy Force 30/sept/1915 to 2?/?/1918....and again France 21/11/1918 to 2/2/1919..... William hawes Rance lived at Ley Hill,Chesham,Bucks. please see my other items for a group of WW2 medals to a Sgt Hardy who lived at the same address(Ley Hill) as this Pte Rance and was therefore possibly related in some way.
