Medalta Art Pottery VaseThis is an Medalta art pottery vase with an interesting glaze standing 7 3/8âe tall and is about 4 ¼âe across the top opening. Medalta was the longest running company and the largest producer of household crockery and hotelware in Canada in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Established in 1914, Medalta Potteries produced 700 different pieces during its 40 year history, however by the late 1940s English porcelain was flooding the Canadian market and in 1954 the company closed its doors. This piece is marked on the bottom, âeoeMEDALTA MEDICINE HAT Bettyâe. T is some light crazing, visible upon close inspection, as to be expected and a few very small fleabites to the glaze on the rim, these are concentrated in one area so they can be turned to the back. T is a tight hairline, extending from about the shoulder up to the top rim, again located at the same place as the fleabites and t is one tiny fleabite to the glaze on the hairline inside the upper portion of the vase. These do not detract from the lovely display or even use of the vase but we mention them for accuracy. Please see close up photos below. Otherwise it is structurally sound and in excellent vintage condition! Shipping Insured shipping via Fed Ex will be $8.00 to $15.00 to most areas in the lower 48 depending on your locale.
