This wonderful and rare book is titled Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion, published by the Government Printing Office, 1888, by Surgeon General Charles Smart, Major and Surgeon, United States Army (part III, Volume 1). You will love this book! It is loaded with incredible details on the diseases, injuries, illnessed and suffering of thousands of soldiers on both sides of the war. Includes medical details on the civil war prisons, slaves, battles and more. Includes detailed statistics, colored pictures, wood engravings- Loaded with fascinating illustrations! This makes a great book for the historian, a surgeon, or Civil War! This is a one of a kind book. I have been unable to find any other details from collectors or dealers! This EXTREMLY RARE book belongs in a museum! Overall it is in good condition. The cover is good to very good, the spine feels a little shaken. It is oversized- about 12 x 9 and weighs quite a bit. Pages are in good condition. No stains, smudges. Don't let this pass you by!
