The Sutton Hoo Helm This historical Anglo-Saxon style dates back to the 6th Century! Only four examples of this extraordinary helm style exist today in museum collections. Surviving reconstructions are restored from fragments found at regional sites at York, Benty Grange, Wollaston and perhaps the most famous, the burial ship site at Sutton Hoo. is a highly detailed reconstruction of the most famous find at the burial. Dating from the early 7th century, the helmet is believed to have belonged to King Raedwald who died in 624AD and is of great archaelogical importance. This reconstruction illustrates admirably the skill and decorative talent of the armourers of the peirod. I t is handcrafted from 18 gauge steel and accented with decorative tinned plaques, brass trim and simulated garnets. Fully leather lined and wearable! 13" tall X 7" wide X 26" around the brow. NOTE: This helmet is missing one of the the simulated garnets over the eyebrows and has been discounted accordingly. Shipping is $18.95 within ConUS.
