Shields through the ages have varied to suit the defensive needs of the warrior that used them. Unlike the movie verition that most would think of , few shield were made of metal, being to heavy and expencive. Hand crafted wood shields with leather and aminal skins as the foundation ,and metal fixtures on the surfus is the historical true to the shield. Wooden plake constuction was one of the many ways of making a fine shield . this is my fouces, and these are my intrepitation of what a historical shield may have looked and felt like in a time of chilvery and honorStyle- Round ShieldSize- 22 1/2"weight- 8 1/4 lbswood- 3/4 " Soild poplarFeature- Large Steel Boss. Center handle, steel edge on shield. Inlayed steel on face of shield.
