HMV Year: 1953 Model: 2001 Rare Vintage Portable Valve Record Player This is the record player that can be seen featured on the 78rpm Columbia Record Sleeves that were issued in the "Rock 'n' Roll" era that showed Pony Tailed teenagers enjoying their music. This is a seriously highly sort after machine by serious collectors. A must have for "Rock 'n' Roll" collectors. A super very early excellent example of a valve amp box record player from early 1950's. The turntable is a 3 Speed manual HMV deck. ( 33, 45 & 78rpm). It will play records of all sizes (7", 10" & 12") . IT IS FITTED WITH THE CORRECT ORIGINAL HMV DOUBLE "C" CARTRIDGE AND STYLUS. The two controls operate Off/On/Vol. and tone with with great sound quality through the large speaker built into the side of the cabinet. The HMV logo is on the inside of the lid and remains clear. NOW PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING. THIS MACHINE HAS BEEN STORED FOR YEARS, YET REMAINS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE A FEW WOOD WORM HOLES WHICH MAY NEED TO BE DEALT WITH, BUT THEY ARE HARD TO SEE. WHEN I TESTED THIS (THE FIRST TIME IT HAD BEEN POWERED UP FOR YEARS) IT PLAYED PERFECTLY AND ELVIS SOUNDED AMAZING ON IT. HOWEVER HALF WAY THROUGH "ALL SHOOK UP" THE SOUND WENT.
