I found this and another sketch, both signed "Meiersdorff." I was at first attracted to these sketches solely based on their wonderfully live imagery. Meiersdorff sketched mainly in black & white in his early New Orleans days. It is well-known that Meiersdorff drew these for the musicians, often just giving them away. I have no idea who owned these ink sketches or how they came to be in Albuquerque. I have no certification that these are Meiersdorff originals. I have entered only one of the ink sketches at this time. I removed the work from its glass & frame to verify that it is sketched in ink. The paper is yellowed. It was improperly framed with acidic cardboard. It has thumbtack holes in all four corners, not visible under the mat (once tacked on the wall as a poster?). The paper is torn in one section, but not through the sketched area. The size of the art paper used is nearly 24x18 inches. This item is relisted, and the starting bid has been greatly reduced. If returned for good reason, I will refund the invoice paid upon receiving the returned work. Buyer pays return shipping/handling.Final cost of shipping/handling is determined when its destination is known, and the winning bid determines the necessary insurance for shipping.
