From the 5 Senses series, here is taste. Made Meissen, Germany, 19th century.
Measures 5 1/2inches high. Beautiful woman sits next to a Queen Anne table, laden with fruit, breads and pastries and a bottle of wine. A serviette (napkin) in one hand, she is about to take a bite from a roll. Her features are amongst the loveliest I have seen in a Meissen figurine. Great modelling and painting of hair, apron, skirt and shoes. Every fruit is made in finest detail - grapes, pears etc. Really cute: under her chair a basket of fruit is spilling over. The lacy scarf around her neck, lace on her bodice, sleeves and hems is in incredible condition. Marked underneath with blue crossed swords. Impressed P 62 and 127. Fabulous condition. No damage of any sort.
