is a beautiful cup and saucer from Meissen - the rims with a wide diaper pattern on a yellow ground with curling 'arms' ,at intervals, issuing Deutschblumen. Handle is truly bifurcated (2 separate entwined branches). Inside of cup with gilt dentil rim and floral spray, including a yellow rose in full bloom. Diameter of saucer is 5 5/16"; height of cup is 1 7/8". Both pieces with crossed swords in underglaze blue and incised numerals. Condition is very good. T is wear to the top rim of the cup and to the saucer rim for 5/8"; t are spots of missing yellow on both cup and saucer (see second photo) and t are 4 darkened pinholes on the saucer. Finally, the footrim of the cup is chipped (almost looks whittled) for about 1/2 of its circumference. Although it is uneven, it really isn't noticeable when sitting in the saucer well. Still a wonderful set.
