You are bidding on a Limited Edition German Steinbach Nutrcracker. Handmade in Germany . This gorgeous nutcracker is known as Melchior from the Wisemen series. Per the accompanying hang tag: "A custom in many homes in Germany is to inscribe the letters C+M+B above the front door. This commemorates the Three Wisemen (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar) being guided by the star of Bethlehem to the manger. It is also believed this sign will protect your home from all evil spirits throughout the coming year. Melchior is the second figure in this limited edition series of nutcrackers designed exclusively for Adrian Taron & Sons and handcrafted in Germany by Christian Steinbach. We hope the presence of these beautiful nutcrackers will protect you and your home in the coming years." This item is used but in great condition. His decorative pot is easily removed for storage. Approximately 20" high. Comes with a Steinbach box for easy storage. The bottom is marked 323, Original Steinbach Volkskunst Germany. Also 4543 / 10000 Limited Edition. Item comes "as is."
