This Original , 8½ x 11 inch, Paramount Entertainment Movie Press Kit features Melissa Sue Anderson, Mary McDonough, Cathryn Damon, Gordon Jump, Marion Ross and Patrick Cassidy in scenes from the Made for TV Movie , "Midnight Offerings." An innocent young coed, frightened by her awakening psychic powers, is threatened with death unless she confronts a sinister witch who destroys anyone she cannot dominate. It’s a chilling tale of unearthly powers in conflict. Melissa Sue Anderson played Vivian Sotherland, an attractive and popular high school cheerleader who uses witchcraft to manipulate, torture or kill anyone in order to get her way. As she chants incantations before a black-draped alter, the principal of her school loses control of his car and is killed. His death prevents Vivian’s boyfriend, David Sterling (played by Patrick Cassidy), from flunking out. Vivian’s father, Sherm (played by Gordon Jump), is puzzled by the amount of time Vivian spends behind her locked bedroom door, but her mother, Diane (played by Cathryn Damon), is frighteningly aware of Vivian’s supernatural abilities. Diane is also a witch, yet she uses her power only for good and tries unavailingly to stop her daughter’s evil actions. When new student Robin Prentiss (played by Mary Beth McDonough) begins classes, she and Dave are quickly attracted to each other. Angered by Robin’s interference, Vivian resorts to witchcraft, only to discover the newcomer has the power to stop her. Movie Press Kit’s like this one were mailed to TV Stations across the U.S. as part of a syndicated movie package called, "Paramont Portfolio X" from Paramount Entertainment that the TV Station where I worked aired from 1980-89. I received this Movie Press Kit from Paramount while working in the On-Air Programming department at a local CBS affiliated TV Station in Kansas. I have kept it in a dry, smoke free, air conditioned atmosphere since that time. The Lot is in Excellent Condition and Perfect for Framing .
