Maximilien de Béthune, first Duke of Sully (13 December 1560 – 22 December 1641) was the soldier, French minister, staunch Huguenot and faithful right-hand man who assisted Henry IV of France in the rule of France. Condition: disbound, missing both boards, original leather spine backstrip present and attached firmly; preliminary and latter pages, endpapers and top edge affected by damp, though the vast majority of the text is clean and bright. NB blemish in photos is on camera lens and not on the book.
