This Merchant Marine Academy Cadet Jacket made by " Garber " Brooklyn was worn by a graduate of the New York State Merchant Marine Academy - class of 1940. He then went on to serve in WWII - for those who may not realize, the Merchant Marines were basically "drafted" by the Navy.

See scan of sleeve shot for insignia.. Made of Wool, in dark navy blue and a handsome jacket by any account. Has its entire set of buttons as well. Measurements on this jacket are as follows: From collar top in back to bottom of back of jacket is 30 inches. Distance between shoulder seams across back is 17 ½ inches, Outer Sleeve length from shoulder to bottom of sleeve is 24 inches. Distance around body of jacket is 40 inches.

The item in a box weighs 3 pounds 2 ounces, so you can calulate the shipping - but I add 1.00 for handliing and 1.35 insurance. I can not be responsible if not insured as we are getting into the "holiday mailing season" and I fear they are not able to be as careful around that time. I don't know if that is included when you use the "calculate" feature, but at least you will get a pretty good idea what shipping will cost.
