UP FOR AUCTION IS A WONDERFUL GERMAN SALT-GLAZED BEER STEIN MADE BY REINH MERKELBACH HOHR GRENZHAUSEN. THIS MUSEUM QUALITY STONEWARE STEIN HAS A COBALT BLUE GLAZE DECORATION OF A STYLIZED LION WITHIN A DIAMOND PATTERN FIELD. THIS LION IS PART OF THE COAT OF ARMS OF THE COUNTS OF VELDENZ, DATING BACK TO 1115. THE STEIN IS A WELL EXCUTED DESIGN WITH A PEWTER METAL LID. THE LID IS TIGHT, WITH NO WEAR MARKS. THE STONEWEAR MUG IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS STEIN MEASURES 4" ACROSS AND 5.5" TALL FROM LID TO BASE. BID NOW FOR A COLD BREW OR FOR A FANTASTIC ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION.
