Merry Christmas 1888 Glittery Carnival Prize Trivet This is a five (5) day auction.... I do love this one! It is a Glittering example of a carnival prize. The Trivet Book, by Lynn Rosack notes that these were that indeed! It is cast with "Merry Christmas 1888" in the center of the goodluck horseshoe shape and has a spread eagle on the top. The entire cast object is painted in gold and most of the glitter still remains. The reverse side shows back coping to be sure and also note, "Design Pat. Apld For by C.J. Hoag." It is in excellent overall antique condition with only neglected dust wear from being hung for so many years untouched. The pictures are clear, although I am travelling and couldn't use my usual backdrops and lighting. It measures 6 1/2" length by 4" widest by 3/4" to the tip of the eagle wing's elbow (and the end of the horseshoe, too). Enjoy!!! Please ask me any questions you may have via the link provided.
