This week I am offering several specimens from the Ed Oyler Collection. Ed was a passionate collector of California who specialized in mercury minerals. Many of his studies were conducted in Northern California including the Clear Creek (San Benito County, Ca.) area near the famous Benitoite Gem Mine. The specimen shown is an example of very extensive coverage of crystallized metacinnabar from Mount Diablo Mine, Contra Costa Mine, Ca. It was collected in 1950, and his original display label is included. This is an exceptional cabinet size specimen from a long ago now defunct California locality. Overall size of the specimen is about 5.0" x 3.0" x 2.0" thick. Winning bidder pays shipping charges as calculated in this listing. Most forms of payment are ok and, as usual, your satisfaction is guaranteed from California Mineral Connection.
