This is a beautiful specimen of the stony meteorite from Burkina Faso named Gao. The Gao meteorite fell on March 5, 1960, several thousand small stones rained down in the village of Leo. It is a stone, chondrite H5.
Pieces are still being found t, I now have a supplier in the town so these pieces are newly found. This piece is a nice individual and has beautiful black fusion crust. It weighs 130.8 grams and has ~90% black fusion crust. This is a spectacular piece. I am a meteorite dealer and fully guarantee any meteorite and tektite I sell.
