This is a beautiful specimen of the stony meteorite from Burkina Faso named Gao. The Gao meteorite fell on March 5, 1960, several thousand small stones rained down in the village of Leo. It is a stone, chondrite H5.
Pieces are still being found t, I now have a supplier in the town so these pieces are newly found. This piece is a nice fragment and has beautiful black fusion crust. It weighs 236.2 grams and has nice black fusion crust. It measures 90 mm by 40 mm by 40 mm. This piece is worth arond $700.00!
