Observed fall: No Year found: 1903 Country: Mexico Type : IVB An Really EXTREMELY Rare IVB Irons . Tlacotepec was discovered in 1904 by Ward in the Museum of the Institute of Geology in Mexico City. In 1929, Nininger examined it and was able to trace its origin to the village of Tlacotepec in the State of Puebla, Mexico. He estimated the total weight at 71 kg , broken in two masses, and he managed to obtain the largest one, a 36.6kg mass (that he promptly sliced and distributed). Nininger classified it as an unusual coarse octahedrite, while Buchwald re-classified it as a nickel-rich ataxite of group IVB.
